Hi, I'm Crystal Hiebert

I'm the owner and operator of Little Wanderer Vegan Dessert Company. I started my business adventure in 2017, and have been crafting these cakes for a few years before. I've learned a lot, met a lot of wonderful people, and I've been able to spend a lot of time making and sharing the desserts I'm passionate about. So, why did I get into this in the first place?

Why I started making vegan desserts

Like many of us, I was an emotional eater. I also have a strong sweet tooth. When I was down, I would take handfuls of candy from the pantry, always running back for another, until I had a sugar overload or felt so much shame that I didn’t go again. Then I felt fat and ugly, and guess what, I grabbed a few more to make me feel better. Food can trigger a pleasure response and make us feel good. Really good! In this context though, the instant gratification never lasted and was never worth it. 

Years ago I started seeing a psychologist to help me with my body image and relationship with food. It was at that time that I learned the meaning and power of mindful eating. I continued to follow my passion and my curiosity. I listened to my body and it led me to raw, vegan desserts. I was so excited to find these healthier options, made with plant based ingredients and no refined sugar. They made me feel amazing! I started making my own. Eventually, a special treat turned into a hobby. A hobby turned into a passion. A passion turned into a business.

Best of all, you feel good after eating it, unlike a lot of other desserts. Beautiful presentation and attention to detail. It’s apparent that she puts her heart and soul into her creations.
